BOBW BASKETBALL SERVICES

• BOBW Elite teams are formed through a tryout basis. Players are not guaranteed a spot on a team.

• Elementary and Middle School Tryouts are in December, practices start in January. 

  • The Elementary grades typically have 7 tournaments between March and mid-May. 

  • Middle School grade teams typically have 9 tournaments from late February to early June.

• High School BOBW Elite tryouts will be in early February, and practices will start after the school basketball season is done.  BOBW High School Elite typically have 8 tournaments from mid-March to early June.

• Practices take place in a gym in Mooresville. Teams typically have two 1.5 hour practices per week.

• Tournaments:

• Elementary grades compete in tournaments within 1.5 hours of Mooresville. Most tournaments will be a one-day tournament on Saturdays, and one or two tournaments may be a 2-day tournament.

• Middle and High School grades mostly compete in 2-day tournaments within 1.5 hours of Mooresville. Two tournaments during the season will take place 2.5 hours-4 hours away in driving distance and will require an overnight hotel. They may also compete in one or two 1-day tournaments during the season.

Cost:

• Uniforms cost $190. A check should be brought to TRYOUTS for the uniform. Should your player not be offered, or not accept a position offered, the check will be voided and shredded, (or mailed back to you if you request).  NEW for 2024 Spring - we will have new home uniforms. Returning players whose uniforms are in good condition and fit well from last season will have a uniform fee of $65 for the new home uniform.  

• In addition to uniform cost, we have the league fees. These fees cover tournament entries, coaching, court rentals and administrative fees.  League fees for Elementary are typically ~ $750, Middle School fees are typically ~$925, and High School fees are typically ~$825, with the difference in pricing being the amount of tournaments and practices those grade levels attend.

• Tryouts are two days.  Players are expected to attend both days.

• No spectators are permitted during tryouts. Parents will come to check-in with their player on Saturday with the required paperwork, and then return to pick their player up promptly at the end of their tryout session.

• BOBW Elite is for players serious on improving their skills and showing up for their team. We expect players to give full effort to their role on the team, and we expect players to practice their skills at home on days when there are no practices or games.
